Braden's Blessing

Braden was blessed on Sunday, June 3rd. We had to wake up really early to make sure we got there on time for 9 o'clock Sacrament meeting. My neighbor took some pictures for me in his blessing outfit a few days before the blessing.

After church we invited some family and friends over for brunch. I am so glad we had them over to celebrate with us. We took the opportunity to take a family pic for this special occasion.
Braden with grandma and grandpa Gardiner.
Look at his cute chubby face ;)
The little miss actually got in for this picture with her grandma and grandpa Olsen
Brian gave him a beautiful blessing. I am so thankful to have a worthy priesthood holder in our home and I pray that Braden will follow in his father's footsteps.

Two Months Old

The little guy had his two month check-up at the end of May. He's a heavy weight, weighing in at 13 lbs 14 oz (93rd percentile) and 24 inches tall (90th percentile). Rolls are starting to appear everywhere along with a double chin. He is now smiling and cooing. Plus, he still has all of his hair. I think it makes him look like a little man.....so cute:)

Braden's Newborns

These are just some of our favorite newborn pictures that we had taken of Braden when he was nine days old. We did airplane pictures to match the theme of his nursery. Brian's grandma made this adorable hat :)

This little guy is so calm and easy going. He almost never cries!!

Of course we had to get some pictures of our favorite sports....this is Brian's High School baseball mitt.

The little man is laying on Brian's autographed Jazz basketball.
I love this precious little face! He is such a little sweet heart.

His first nickname is "little guy." Brooklyn's favorite thing to do when he is awake is put her face right in front of his and say, "hi, little guy."

The proud older sister :)

Introducing....

Braden Scott Olsen
March 26, 2012
7 lbs 11 oz
21 Inches
6:31 pm
My due date was March 29th and the doctor didn't want me to go over so he gave me a three day window to be induced. On March 26th, the hospital called me at about one o'clock to come in.

Before they started me I was 3+ centimeters dilated and 80 percent effaced. At 3:15 they started me on a very slow pitocin drip. The nurse was going between our room and another one and she didn't want us to delivery at the same time. The doctor broke my water at around 5:30 and I was dilated to a 6. He left and said that he only needs 12 minutes to get back. A few contractions later I told the nurse it felt like I need to go to the bathroom and so she checked me. She told me she felt head and that she was going to call the doctor and that I should try not to push. (A request that was very hard to do!!) My doctor came a few minutes later after driving 95 mph. He walked in his house just to turn around and drive right back to the hospital. After pushing for about 90 seconds our little guy was born at 6:31 pm. Just over 3 hours of labor!

He has lots of hair!! Just slightly more than his older sister had and a little darker too. I think he looks a lot like his older sister when she was born. Brooklyn kept telling everyone that her mama and dada were at the "restaurant." I think she finally understood what was going on when she saw him at the hospital. When she first saw him she wasn't quite sure about him. She just wanted to look at him and not hold him, but she warmed up pretty quick :)

We feel very blessed that we are both healthy and are so excited to have this perfect addition to our family!

Brooklyn Hits the Slopes

Brian took the little miss skiing for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I missed out on the action being that I was 8 months pregnant and all.

She used the smallest ski boots and skis the rental shop had.

Poor girl was so sad that she couldn't go down the big hills. Maybe next year :)

Go Jazz!!

We have had the opportunity to go to a few Jazz games this year already and we are very happy they actually got to have a season at all this year!
