Santa Claus

Santa Claus is so fun to talk about and see at a distance, but sitting on his lap is a whole different story....

Alexis Elaine

On November 29th at 1:06am baby Alexis was born to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Russ and Kristen Olsen. We are so excited to welcome a new member to the Olsen family!! She is so beautiful and such a sweet spirit. Seeing her reminded me how precious a gift these little ones are. Brian and I are now aunt and uncle to twelve nieces and nephews and one more little niece in the next couple of weeks :)
8 lbs 6 oz
21.25 inches

I think this little girl might have a little look of her daddy :)

HaPpY HaLlOwEeN

On Halloween Eve we decided to carve pumpkins. This was Brooklyn's first opportunity at such an experience. You can tell how much she liked cleaning out the "punkins."

To quote her specifically I think she used the words, "Hold your nose, kaka poo poos."

However, Brooklyn loved the results!!
The one on the left represents Brian and he carved it. The one in the middle represents Brooklyn, and maybe the little one on the way. The one on the left represents me. Brian suprised me by putting a little baby pumpkin inside the one I carved. If you look close, you might be able to see the face he drew on it just off to the left side of the witch :)

Our porch was ready for Halloween.

* Trunk-or-Treat *

Last minute, Brooklyn's grandma Debi made her a Minnie Dress. I think it turned out so adorable and she did such an amazing job making it!! We started out the night at Brian's parents ward trunk-or-treat. We thought it would be easier for her than going house to house and we also wanted her grandparents to see her.

She had to analyze frankenstein as well...it was a lot bigger than the one we had at our house!!

She got plenty of "Grandma" and "Papa" time.

* Trick-or-Treat*

After the Trunk-or-Treat, we went to my parents for some Trick-or-Treating. My dad took Brooklyn to a few houses as well as some of her cousins. It brought back memories of my dad taking us Trick-or-Treating to as many houses as we could before we got too tired.
While we were there we got a picture with her grandma, because a picture with "Papa" wasn't going to happen. Brooklyn loves her grandmas!!

The little B got to see a few of her cousins (a pirate, iron man, and spiderman) as well.

{ :) We had a spooktacular halloween (: }

Here Fishy Fishy

With so much happening this summer we didn't get a chance to go camping until conference weekend. It was long overdue!

The leaves were so gorgeous. I love to be in the mountains when the colors change!!

These were some of Brooklyn's cheesy grins.

Some little B entertainment. One of her favorite things to do these days.

Fishing with dada. This doesn't last long, however, because she has to hold it all by herself "I do" or "Brooklyn do."

We also found some time to go fishing over the deer hunt this weekend. This girl loves to fish. When I tell her that daddy is going she always asks to go. This time we got to take her pink pole :)

She calls to the fish saying, "here fishy fishy."

The Big Announcement

Yes that's right we are expecting baby #2!!

We have kept it a secret until we found out what it is. So without futher adieu......

We decided to let Brooklyn spill the beans to our parents.

Following the announcement they realized that there was more to the story. They were thinking that we were just barely pregnant but we had another surprise. (Little did they know I was about 15 weeks along.) Brian let some balloons go up into the air. Some of them had small holes in them which left only two still floating.

The blue ones:)
We are excited to announce that we will be having a boy on or around March 29, 2012!!!

Oh To Be Two

Some updates that go along with her being two:
- Height: 34.5 inches (80%)
- Weight: 24 lbs (25%)
- Oh boy does this girl sing!! She sings about everything she is doing and makes up her own songs. She sings the entire alphabet, "twinkle, twinkle little star"(after only hearing it one time), the disney junior commercials, sesame street songs, mickeymouse clubhouse songs, and the list goes on and on.
- She counts to 15 and knows all of her colors and shapes.
- She spells her name (she has actually done this since 18 months).
- She will tell you how old she is.
- She will finally let me do her hair sometimes :)
- They call her the "the counselor" in nursery because she tells the ones who are crying, "It's ok, momma and dadda right back."
- Finally, some Brooklyn-isms:
If you are walking away from her she will say "wait, I'm coming,"
If I do something she wants me to do she will say, "good girl momma,"
If you ask her what she is doing she will tell you that she is "playing with (whoever she is with),"
If she notices you are upset or distressed she will tell you "it's ok,"
Every task is "Brooklyn do,"
If I catch her doing something she is not suppose to, she will tell me to "stay mamma," (if come closer I can see what she is doing:)),
If there are big and small sizes of the same thing, the smaller one will inevitably have a "baby" prefix,
She claps her hands calling you over like a dog saying "here dadda,"
Or she says random things like "where's woody's hat?," "cars are ouchie," "watch out."
Last but certainly not least, she says "I love you." (melts my heart!)

Look Whoo Turned Two

On September 13th, our little girl turned two!! Brian and I took the day off to spend it with her. We decided to take her to the aquarium by our house. These are some pics from our adventure. She had a lot of fun!

On September 14th we had her party. Your invited.....

The cake

The decorations

Some of the guests...

This was the second attempt at blowing out the candles. The first time we sang happy birthday she wanted nothing to do with the cake. She was just too excited about having her cousins over so all she wanted to do was play :)

The presents....She liked the wrapping paper almost more than her presents!!

She got a new baby, complete with a crib, rocking horse, and bottles. Brooklyn absolutely loves babies (real or plastic). She is so nurturing and loves to wrap her babies and/or stuffed animals up in her blankies.

She also got a kitchen, a car, books, a picnic set, and a doll house. So now the question is what is Santa going to bring for Christmas?!

We love this litte girl more than life itself and feel so blessed to have her!
Happy Birthday to our Brooklyn girl!
